Consistent mediocrity

While consistent mediocrity may seem like an oxymoron, since there is always a push for improvement. While I accept that one should always strive to improve, consistency is underrated. Consistently doing something for a long period of time produces extraordinary results.

Howard Marks once told the story of an investor whose performance was never in the top half of his peers in any given year. But, cumulatively, over a 14-year period, he ranked in the top 4% of his peers.

I believe this is very true for our personal and professional lives.
