Important Architecture Tool – Stakeholder Analysis

As I wrote earlier in my blog, Architecture is a dialogue. One of the keys for this dialogue is to understand your stakeholders. Though TOGAF defines the stakeholder analysis as the Phase A (Architecture Vision) activity, but in major change programmes; architecture is always in progress and keeps adding new streams of work, hence new stakeholders.

However, the concepts of Stakeholder Management (defined below) are still very useful.

  • Identify Stakeholders
    • e.g. suppliers, partners, operations, security)
  • Identify their concerns
    • e.g. architecture covers security aspects as per security classification
  • Understand the power grid
