I fully agree with the role of business architecture, in fact I wrote a series of blog posts on business architecture benefits. But some of the business architecture literature takes potshots on IT to prove their point e.g.

“98% of business people were forced to change business processes to adjust to the new software.”

“The Standish Group study showed that IT wastes more money annually than it actually puts to good use.”

“SOA and Cloud Computing are IT propagandas.”

While I have experienced few occurrences of badly managed IT projects but they can’t be counted as generic examples.

IT is the core of any business today and businesses are making IT as its competitive advantage.
